Joey Richter


Joey Richter earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) in 2023 from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, SC. During his time at MUSC, Joey worked with various athletes and underserved individuals in Charleston, helping them return to sport or work and prevent injuries. He also contributed to anatomy dissection courses, preparing dissections and educating future clinicians on anatomical structures.


Joey began his career in the greater Wilmington area in 2023, gaining experience in an outpatient setting. He primarily treats patients with pre- and post-surgical injuries, orthopedic conditions, neurological conditions, balance and fall prevention, and vertigo/vestibular disorders. Joey is committed to expanding his expertise in vertigo/vestibular conditions, attending multiple continuing education courses since starting his career.

    Joey has a passion for balance and fall prevention, as well as vertigo/vestibular conditions, focusing on preventing further complications or injuries. He emphasizes individualized, one-on-one care and patient education to empower his patients during the recovery process.

    What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

    Outside of work, Joey enjoys traveling and exploring new cities throughout the Carolinas, cooking for his fiancée, and watching sporting events, especially Philadelphia sports teams.
