Lymphatic Drainage Massage in Wilmington.

Gentle, rhythmic work that helps trapped fluid find its way out, delivered as part of your physical therapy plan.

Swelling and heaviness Part of your PT plan Talk to a Specialist

What It Is

Light hands. Fluid moves.

Your lymphatic system has no pump of its own. It depends on movement and on gentle pressure changes to carry fluid out of an area. When that stalls, a limb feels heavy, tight, and puffy, and the joint inside it stops bending well.

Lymphatic drainage is very light, rhythmic, directional work. Much lighter than the massage you’re picturing, and that’s the point. Deep pressure flattens the small vessels we’re trying to use.

Here it’s delivered as part of a physical therapy plan by the Doctor of Physical Therapy who evaluated you, and it’s paired with the movement and compression that keep fluid moving after you go home.

What It Helps

Where it helps most.

Swelling isn’t cosmetic. It stiffens the joint underneath it, and a stiff joint never gets strong.

What A Session Looks Like

Three steps, one visit.

1

We check where the fluid is sitting.

2

Light, directional work, in sequence.

3

Movement and compression to hold it.

Why It Works

Four reasons it earns a place in your plan.

Lighter than you expect, on purpose.

Less heaviness, more usable motion.

Paired with movement, so it holds.

Guided by your evaluation, not a menu.

Questions, Answered

Lymphatic drainage, no mystery.

Your Doctor of Physical Therapy. Every treating clinician here holds a DPT, and the same one is with you one-on-one for the whole visit. The work is chosen from your cause-first evaluation and delivered as part of your physical therapy plan.

Because the vessels we’re working with sit just under the skin and they’re delicate. Press hard and you close the very channels you’re trying to open. If it feels almost too gentle to be doing anything, that usually means it’s being done right.

Tell us at the evaluation, along with any medications and any heart or kidney history. Some swelling needs a physician managing it alongside therapy, and some needs a physician first. We’ll tell you plainly what belongs here and what belongs with your doctor, and we’d rather say that than book you visits.
